This is a day that I only dreamed of!!! Rhett has finally shown an interest in potty training! I was putting his clothes away and he saw a little pair of Toy Story 3 underwear that I had bought. He wanted to put them on. He had one accident and didn't like how if felt and he has gone in the potty twice since! I gave him a Hot Wheels car and he was so excited! He called Papa on the phone and said, " And if I poop I get Hot Wheels and candy and more Hot Wheels." I never told him this, but whatever works!!!!
It's a big day, yeah!!!

Never again!!!
I swear that if I ever agree or decide that riding in a car for most of Spring Break with a 3 year and a 9 year (that was acting like a 3 year old) is a good idea ever again commit me!!!
The crazy part was that the car wasn't even what finally drove me over the edge, it was sleeping in the same hotel room with both boys and my parents! Let me give a recap of the night with 2 queen size beds.

Ford Explorer in the parking lot of the hotel: Me trying to sleep in the car and holy crap it is cold!
1 hour later:
Me stumbling back into the hotel freezing. Dad sits up, " Where have you been?"
Me: "Trying to sleep in the car but it's freezing!"
Dad: " Well, I could have told you that! Let me guess, your mother was snoring??"
Me: "Ahhhhhhh! It was you!"
Dad: "Yah, right!" He rolls over, goes right back to sleep and is snoring in 3 seconds!! Grrrrrrr!

Spring Break in a car....
Spring Break is finally here and for some unknown reason we have to decided to go on not one car trip, but two! First we drove with my Mom and Dad, Jason and I, and the kids to Burlington, Iowa to a water park. This place looked really neat, it has a water park area, arcade, and casino. However the problems began when we got in the water and no one else was watching their kids! Big kids pushing little kids and knocking them over. It kind of ticked me off, and of coarse I complained! The funniest moment was seeing my dad go down a water slide for the first time. We all held our breath waiting to see if he would come out the other end or would get stuck! I had these horrible images of Homer Simpson having to get cut out of a water slide and lowered down in the cut tube by a crane!
Rhett refused to go to sleep and kept everyone up until 12:30 am, not good! The trip home went better than expected.
We are home for a day and then Mom, Dad, the boys, and I are heading to Missouri to visit some of Dad's relatives. We are going to show the boys were their Papa spent the summers with his Grandparents. I'm working on the family tree, so we are going to the cemetaries and taking pictures of the gravestones. (This is something I never thought would interest me or that I would want to do! Boy do things change!)
Today at home lunch was interesting. Rhett was having macaroni and cheese. He really wanted a popsicle bad (he calls them lollipops), so I told him that he could have one if he ate all of his lunch. Not 30 seconds after I said this Rhett yells, "I'm finished!" I turned around and he is smiling and patting his belly like it is full. The dog is sitting right next to the table with a macaroni noodle hanging off his lip!

The Beginning
Hello World! After many of my Facebook friends told me I needed to start a blog I had to take the embarrassing step of asking a friend how exactly to do that! Thanks Amy! I guess that my take on motherhood may be slightly different, I like to look at the humor in things. Sometimes it may take me awhile to get to the humor, but it usually comes! I am the mother of 2 boys, Clayton age 9, and Rhett age 3. I should also add that I was raised in a household with only sisters and boys were completely foreign to me! My youngest son Rhett has a reputation for trouble in an interesting way. I thought for my first blog I would share a few of my favorite Rhett Facebook postings.
10/4/10 I have been looking forward to the beef stew I made that was cooking in the crock all day. I just love that moment you walk in the house and everything smells so good! I walked through the door and no smell??? Rhett turned off the crock pot :-(
9/17/10 My poor mother spent the day getting ready for a garage sale tomorrow. She went around pricing things and didn't realize that Rhett was walking behind her taking the stickers off!
9/14/10 Just got home from work and found that my tan couch now has a "wonderful" blue marker design all over it. I haven't caught the culprit yet, but I'm pretty sure he is napping upstairs!
My children had a fight in the back seat of the car with bank suckers! I had to stop the car and when I looked back Rhett had one stuck in his hair and Clay was trying way to hard to look innocent!
